For families caring for a parent in Michigan

Caring for your parent? You could be paid for it.

Michigan's Medicaid Home Help program may pay some family members, other than a spouse, to help someone at home. The State decides who qualifies.

Is anyone already paid by Michigan's Home Help program for this person's care today?

Adds you to our waitlist. Free. Not an application for Medicaid or a job, and we never ask for a Medicaid number. We plan to open in Michigan first and will email you the day we do. There is no confirmation email before then.

How it works

  1. Join the waitlist

One email. We ask first whether anyone already gets Home Help, and we write the day we open.

  2. We plan to help with the paperwork

We plan to use software to track every step and draft the follow-ups. A person checks each one.

  3. Pay depends on State approval

Pay can start only after the State approves the hours.

Questions

Can I be paid to care for my own parent?

Yes, if they qualify for Michigan's Medicaid Home Help program. Only the State decides who qualifies. A spouse can't be paid, and if you are already paid by the State as their individual caregiver there is a 90-day wait before you could work for us for the same person.

Is it available where I live?

Michigan first, then North Dakota and Montana. Choose your state above and we'll email you when we open there.

What kind of help is it?

Daily tasks like bathing, dressing, meals, housework and medication reminders. A State caseworker decides which tasks and how many hours.

Do you hire caregivers who aren't family?

We plan to. We aren't hiring yet, but you can tell us your area and when you could work, and we'll contact you when we begin hiring. Everyone we hire will be background-checked before their first visit.

Are you open yet?

Not open yet. We're not yet an approved Medicaid provider in any state, so we can't enroll anyone, decide eligibility, arrange payment or offer work today. Join the waitlist and we'll email you when that changes.

Is this a government program?

No. Already Caring is a private company, not a government agency, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Medicaid or any state or federal program.
