For Michigan professionals who meet families needing care at home
Helping a family find care at home? We'd like to hear from you.
This page is for Area Agency on Aging options counselors, hospital discharge planners, social workers, senior center staff, elder law attorneys and faith community care teams.
Michigan's Medicaid Home Help program may pay some family members, other than a spouse, to help someone at home. Already Caring plans to help Michigan families with the paperwork, track every step and keep the family posted. Only the State of Michigan decides who qualifies.
We open in Michigan soon. Until we do, we can't take on a family's care or enroll anyone. Leave your email below and we'll email you when that changes.
How a family gets started with Home Help
Anyone, including a professional, can refer someone to their county MDHHS office. The State's Home Help Program Client Handbook is MDHHS-Pub-1733. The county office takes the referral, and a State adult services worker decides which tasks and how many hours, if any.
