Thanks for writing back. Here is who we are and what we are asking.
This page is for Area Agency on Aging staff, senior center and community organization staff, hospital and rehab discharge planners, social workers and faith community care teams. It is not for families: if you are arranging care for someone, please start at our Michigan page.
Who we are
Already Caring is a small private company planning an in-home care service in Michigan for families who want care at home, and for the caregivers who give it. We are not open yet. We are not a government agency, we are not part of MDHHS or any Area Agency on Aging, and we are not enrolled as a Home Help provider. Until we open we cannot take on anyone's care or enroll anyone, and we are not asking you to send anyone to us.
Michigan's Medicaid Home Help program is run by the State of Michigan. Only the State decides who qualifies and for what. Nothing on this page is legal, medical or benefits advice.
What we are asking
Nothing is needed from you. Three things would help, and each is yours to take or leave:
- Share the free guides if they are useful. They explain the Home Help program, the county office, the medical needs form and CHAMPS enrollment in plain language, with no sign-up to read them. They are collected at alreadycaring.com/professionals.
- Tell us what families ask you. Where the paperwork stalls, which forms confuse people, what you wish existed. That shapes what we build.
- Tell us how you would want to hear from us when we open. One email, a short call, or not at all.
Families who already receive Home Help, and the caregivers the State already pays, are not who we are looking for, and we would never ask you to steer them to us. Anyone, including you, can refer a family straight to their county MDHHS office today; the Home Help handbook is MDHHS-Pub-1733.
